“I’ll deal with my injury later”
These words haunt me to this day.
See in 2014 I injured my shoulder WEEKS after getting into the best shape of my life 👇

My world came crashing down, and the thought of going back to being the fat kid… a shell of my former self… TERRIFIED me.
I was in denial, and make a HUGE mistake…
Instead of getting help – I procrastinated, and the consequences were WORSE than I could have imagined.
Here are the 6 hidden costs of leaving an injury go unsolved:
1. Chronic Pain
Leaving an injury untreated can result in pain that persists long after your injury has healed.
This pain makes simple day to day activities unbearable. And it’ll be all you think about and dread when you turn up to the gym.
2. Loss Of Gains
When you avoid dealing with an injury, your muscles weaken and atrophy over time.
You’ll start to feel scrawny, weak, and the longer you leave it, all your previous work and effort will begin to disappear
3. Poor Performance
Ignoring your injury will destroy your athletic performance more and more over time.
There will be very little point in training when you can’t progress, and little point in playing sport when you can’t compete.
4. More Injuries
Your body is smart, and it will find ways to compensate for injury caused weaknesses.
Other muscles become overworked, strained, and this leads to more discomfort, aches, and pains that could have been avoided.

5. Financial Burden
Unaddressed injuries often end up more complicated and expensive to treat.
Ironic…
Because in the beginning, many avoid injury rehab to save money, but end up spending MUCH more later on when they’re forced to.
6. Mental Toll
Over time, persistent pain takes a toll on your happiness, confidence and quality of life.
Frustration, anxiety, and hopelessness set in when you can’t workout, stay healthy or engage in the activities you love.
Fin.
Here are the 7 consequences of leaving your injury go unsolved:
1) Chronic Pain
2) Loss Of Gains
3) Poor Performance
4) More Injuries
5) Financial Burden
6) Mental Toll
7) Missed Opportunities
An awful list right? But the sad truth is most people think about day to day life, ignore the future, and don’t take action until it’s too late.
And because of that:
Some of you reading this will be training and playing sports pain-free 6 months from now. But others will be stuck in the position you’re in today.
It all depends on whether you’d rather:
- Take relentless action toward your goals
- Be a slave to your circumstances
The choice is yours…
There is no “perfect time”. So stop procrastinating. And let’s work toward a pain free and healthy 2024.
Yours in health,
— Ollie E.
